Clean and Unclean | S4 Ep. 8

Todays episode reaches the books of Exodus and Leviticus. Diving deep into these books Tina and Matt address the common difficulties readers face with these books due to the complexity of its laws and the concept of being ‘clean’ and ‘unclean’. Matt and Tina discuss the concept of cleanliness. Their conversation diverges into the book’s context, relating the societal rules in Leviticus to those imposed by the Pharaoh at the time. They note that Leviticus was misunderstood and contained laws meant for a specific cultural context, notably a nomadic civilization. 

They further link the Old Testament's laws to the New Testament, emphasizing how Jesus brought changes, healed the 'unclean', and touched those that society isolated. They relate this to our current situation as sinful humans, who need Jesus's cleansing and atonement to reconcile with God.
